I'm rather out of touch anymore, so I don't even remember which year games are released. But just going off of what I've played this year, I'll give my top five.
- TERA - Beautiful world, big ass monsters, and playing a tank was fucking awesome as you had to reactively block and dodge during boss fights. The races were interesting, the story was pretty good most of the time, and it's one of the few games that has (some) male characters showing a fair bit of skin.
- Black Ops 2 - The new create a class system is the best one yet, IMO. Haven't gotten much into the single player, but it does the job at sating my FPS craving.
- Saints Row 3 - This game amuses me to no end. It's completely over the top at times and usually leaves me grinning. I mean ... Burt Reynolds was the mayor! Too many quirky and fun things to list.
- Pokemon Black/White 2 - More of the same, but I'm not looking at that as a bad thing. At least now repells will chain when one runs out! The medals/achievements thing is interesting, even if it is obviously geared at very densely populated areas.
- Dwarf Fortress - Where else can you get *cat tallow biscuits*? And have a vampire for a mayor. And kill off the elves wanting to trade with you with lava? And learn to hate aquifers? And conquor hell and engrave every surface with things like dwarves eating cheese?
