One of my local videogame magazines whined that last year was terrible for the industry a s it was full of sequels, with few new IPs. And looking at the BAFTA nominations:

But IMHO it was pretty good because those sequels were huge! Portal 2, Skyrim, MW 3, Gears 3, Zelda, Uncharted 3, Arkham City etc.
Although NPD data did indicate a drop in $300 million in game sales last year...which is offset by the $200 to $300 million gained from online, mobile, and pre-owned sales.
Thoughts?
